Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters
High pressure to the north will continue to produce a light to moderate easterly flow through Wednesday. The northern fringes of a weak tropical wave will produce isolated showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday. Hurricane Ike is expected to move into the central Gulf on Thursday and into the northwest Gulf on Friday. High swells from Ike will reach the coastal waters on Thursday and will increase significantly on Friday. The winds will become increasingly offshore as Ike approaches towards the end of the period.
