Statement as of 5:22 PM AKST on December 03, 2008 ... Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect until 9 am akst Thursday... A Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect until 9 am akst Thursday. Warm air aloft will overspread cold air at the surface this evening... changing precipitation over the southern Kuskokwim valley to freezing rain. Areas of freezing rain will spread northward overnight and may reach as far north as McGrath Thursday morning. Temperatures will warm to near or above freezing by Thursday morning... ending the widespread threat of freezing rain. A light accumulation of ice is expected. A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
