... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for Saturday...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of northwest Arizona... California and Nevada...
including the following areas... in northwest Arizona... Lake
havasu and Fort Mohave... Lake Mead National Recreation Area...
northwest deserts and northwest plateau. In California... Cadiz
basin... eastern Mojave Desert... morongo basin and San
Bernardino County-upper Colorado River valley. In Nevada...
Lake Mead National Recreation Area... Las Vegas Valley...
Lincoln County... northeast Clark County and southern Clark
County.
* From Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening
* scattered thunderstorms... some producing locally heavy rain...
are expected over portions of Lincoln... Mohave... Clark... and
eastern San Bernardino counties on Saturday. Increasing moisture
combined with a very unstable airmass will result in conditions
favoring heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding.
* Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle
into areas where water covers the roadway. Flood waters are
usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water
is powerful enough to sweep many vehicles off the Road. When
encountering a flooded Road make the smart choice and "turn
around... dont drown."
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation
and persons in the watch area should be alert to the potential for
heavy rainfall and be prepared to take quick action and move to
higher ground.
