rain chances limited to interior sections this afternoon... Good afternoon from the impact weather desk. High resolution visible satellite imagery shows a rather diffuse East Coast sea breeze pushing inland across the coastal counties. Isolated showers and lightning storms will be possible over interior portions of the coastal counties...especially Volusia County. But immediate coastal communities will remain dry with an east to northeast wind around 10 mph...a very nice beach day. Rain chances will be limited to interior sections the remainder of the afternoon...in particular the northern interior...including inland Volusia...Seminole...Lake and western Orange counties where moisture levels are higher. The primary threat from storms will be dangerous cloud to ground lightning and gusty downburst winds in the stronger storms. Focus for convection will gradually shift toward the Florida West Coast toward evening.
