A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 2 am to 5 PM MST
Tuesday.
A strong winter weather system will drop south out of Canada and
bring sharply colder temperatures... snow... and gusty winds to the
region. The cold front will move through the Cut Bank area around
11 PM tonight... through the Great Falls and Havre areas by 2 am
Tuesday... and the Lewistown area around 4 am. The cold front will
continue to move southward through southwest Montana during the
morning hours on Tuesday. Expect light snow develop a few hours
after the cold front moves through. Snowfall accumulations of 2
to 4 inches are expected at lower elevations... with 6 to 10 inches
in the mountains. Wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph will cause areas of
blowing snow... with visibilities at times of one quarter mile or
less Tuesday morning and in particular during the morning commute.
Conditions should begin to taper off during the afternoon hours on
Tuesday.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open
areas.
