The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 8 PM this evening to 8 am MST Friday.
Snow will move into the region later this evening. Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches can be expected along the Highway 83 corridor by mid morning on Friday. The higher terrain should expect snow accumulation up to 7 inches. Wind does not appear to be an issue except for the Highway 2 corridor between Essex and Marias Pass. This location could receive wind gusts up to 30 mph causing blowing and drifting snow.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... blowing snow... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
