The short term forecast for western New York. Showers and thunderstorms that were scattered from the Jamestown area to Welland Ontario will move northeast over the region this afternoon. They will pass over portions of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, and Niagara counties including the Randolph, South Dayton, Gowanda, Eden, Athol Springs, and Niagara Falls areas between noon and 1 PM. Many of the storms will produce very heavy downpours, hail, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. Widely scattered showers will also move over Allegany County.
