Nowcast as of 2:50 PM CDT on October 14, 2008
Now
regional weather discussion... an area of rain across far northwest Oklahoma will continue to move north around 25 mph during the remainder of the afternoon. Through 5 PM... most of the rain will be northwest of a line from Arnett to Woodward... to Freedom. However... isolated showers will still occasionally develop across central and southern Oklahoma and western North Texas. Rainfall rates will be generally less than one tenth of an inch an hour. Elsewhere... a warm front was located across central and southwest Oklahoma and into western North Texas... extending from Stillwater... to Frederick... to Seymour Texas. The portion of the warm front in central and southwest Oklahoma will continue to move slowly back to the northwest through the afternoon. In the cooler air to the west of the front... areas of fog will lower visibilities at times to one mile or less. The fog will begin lifting as the warm front moves through the area. Temperatures through the remainder of the afternoon will range from the upper half of the 40s and 50s northwest of the front... warming into the mid 70s to mid 80s southeast of the front. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage again tonight as an upper air storm system moves through the area and pushes the front back to the southeast as a cold front.
Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 50s. North winds around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
