A lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EST this afternoon. Lake effect snow showers will continue to develop through the morning and early afternoon. Snow will accumulate from 1 to 3 inches today with storm total accumulations of up to 7 inches. Brisk west winds of 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts will cause some blowing and drifting snow. Precautionary/preparedness actions... In lake effect snow the weather can vary from locally heavy snow in narrow bands to clear skies just a few miles away. If you will be traveling across the region be prepared for rapid changes in Road and visibility conditions.
