Statement as of 9:48 PM EST on December 01, 2008 ... Lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EST Tuesday... A lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EST Tuesday. Lake effect snow showers will continue to develop overnight as colder air moves into the area. Snow will accumulate from 4 to 6 inches by daybreak with another 1 to 2 inches possible Tuesday morning. The heaviest accumulation is expected south of Interstate 90 in the higher terrain. Brisk west winds of 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts will cause some blowing and drifting snow. Precautionary/preparedness actions... In lake effect snow the weather can vary from locally heavy snow in narrow bands to clear skies just a few miles away. If you will be traveling across the region be prepared for rapid changes in Road and visibility conditions. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio and other radio and TV stations for further details or updates.
