... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through late Saturday night...
The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter Storm Watch... which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through late Saturday night.
After periods of relatively light snow today and tonight... the snowfall has the potential to increase in intensity Saturday afternoon and continue through Saturday night. Snowfall amounts of 4 to 7 inches are possible around Casper with higher amounts along and south of Wyoming Boulevard. Even higher amounts are expected in western Natrona County between Natrona and Hiland where 6 to 10 inches are possible. In addition... northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 30 mph will create sharply reduced visibilities along with blowing and drifting snow.
Hunters... travelers and others with outdoor interests should pay close attention to the weather forecast. Listen to NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite media outlet for the latest forecasts and winter statements.
Remember... a Winter Storm Watch means conditions are favorable for hazardous winter weather in and close to the watch area.
