... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 6 am MDT Sunday...
The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter
Storm Warning... which is in effect until 6 am MDT Sunday. The
Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
Light to moderate snow will continue today and tonight. The
heaviest snow will likely fall Saturday afternoon through Saturday
night when snowfall rates of an inch per hour are possible.
Snowfall around the area today has generally ranged from 1 to 2 inches
with local amounts around 3 inches. Snowfall amounts by late
Saturday night will range from 8 to 12 inches across much of the
Wind River basin with 12 to 15 inches around Lander and Fort
Washakie. 6 to 7 inches of snow is expected in Shoshoni as well as
other areas just south of The Owl creek mountains. Travel over
area highways will likely become slick and snow covered tonight
through Saturday.
