Last week we were surveying in Old Town Maine. We had to survey along a portion of the Penobscot River with temperature hovering around 20 degrees. The wind coming down the river made it feel more like zero. It made me stop and think though how the early visitors to the area and the native people must have faired. I was lucky to have modern clothes to keep me warm. Although fur and wool would have been warmer I don't think they would have been as cozy. This morning I woke up to strong wind and rain in Ocean Park. I have checked the advisory to see we may have wind gusts around 50 mph. Time to walk the beach if we dare. The cathedral pines are swaying pretty good so I hope we don't lose power. I must admit, I will enjoy the 40 degree temps. this week no matter what.
Happy Thanksgiving!
