Hello to all my WU friends.
I have a prayer request to ask of all of you.
There is a man who is in the hospital dying from cancer. His name is Marvin McClure. He is a close friend of my wife and son and was one of the trainers at First Student where my wife and son work.
I'm told he is not expected to live much longer. I would ask that you pray for him and his family and for his close friends at First Student. He is a man who is loved by many people and has a wonderful spirit. He loves fishing and Corvettes and the out doors.
His lose will cause much pain among his family and co-workers and friend. Thank you for your prayers.

Marvins Story as told by Carole, his girl friend
To all of Marv's MANY friends and family members. I thought this would be a wonderful way for me to keep you all up to date. I will print out all of your messages and bring them to him daily. His spirits will soar.
Thanks.......Carole
Six and a half weeks ago....seemingly out of the blue....Marvin was diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread extensively to his bones. A minor nagging cough, a few aches and pains that never got better, brought him to his doctor. A CT scan, a needle biopsy, an MRI, and a PET scan, all confirmed the worse.
Marvin had a total hip replacement 4 weeks ago due to cancerous lesions. The surgery and rehab went well. Marv had been staying at my house before and after the surgery. Due to the extremely aggressive nature of his cancer....pain control became a major issue. He was readmitted to the hospital to address those problems. He was put on a continuous IV drip of Morphene which helped enormously. He came home with me again. After 4-5 days of home care, I had to call an ambulance to take him back to the hospital. He's been at Abbott Northwestern since last Monday.
Marv is getting radiation treatments for all of his bone lesions, and chemotherapy for lung and bone cancer. Eventually, the hope is, he will feel better and stronger. Until that time comes....he will have to go to an extended care facility. I will let you all know where and when. When he gets his strength back, he will come home to be with me.
PLEASE CHECK OUT THE COMMENTS AREA BELOW FOR UPDATES ON MARV'S CONDITION.

From palmettobug53: {Good words to live by}
Happy Thanksgiving, to you and yours!
May you have a wonderful day, filled with blessings.
When I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
Bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
