Good evening everyone! After reviewing some models, it appears as if the prospects for rain are still not great as we head into next week. There is the potential for at least some rainfall as we head into NEXT weekend (11th or so), but that is very far away. We have a trough in place now which has allowed for this beautiful fall weather currently in place across the Eastern US. I for one am enjoying this very much! In fact, cold weather will be in many places from Northern GA, AL, northward into especially the Northeast as some places will fall into the upper 30's as far South as Southern TN. This trough will remain in place into the weekend before lifting on out of here as a strong storm system deepens across the Pacific Northwest. A temporary Ridge will be in place next week before we return to a more zonal flow. Depending on how long the Ridge is in place will depend on how much moisture can be transported in from the Gulf, and the wind direction as well. A Southwesterly flow will be of no use coming out of the Texas and Mexico areas. A southerly flow out of the Gulf will help to bring up relative humidities and dew points, and until this happens, expect dry weather to persists with this northerly wind flow. Surprisingly, the CPC seems to think the Southeast will have a normal October temperature-wise...I'm not sure I have ever seen that. But I am looking forward to it, IF it comes about. :) Update later! Have a wonderful evening everyone...tomorrow promises to be gorgeous.
