The Keweenaw and the entire UP were the victims of a April Fools Day snow storm. While the Keweenaw experienced a snow and blowing snow advisory with just a few inches of snow, Marquette County got pounded with over a foot of snow which fell under blizzard conditions.
This storm led to schools being closed across the region including NMU. However the schools in the Keweenaw are on spring break, so the kids missed out on a snow day. Nice April Fools day joke on them. YooperSnowman
